The Trainer’s Tale…….A look at V1 product training
As V1’s Product Trainer, I am in the fortunate position of meeting our customers who have purchased a V1 electronic document management solution (EDM) and helping them to get the best out of their investment.
One of the things I am constantly impressed by is the enthusiasm of our customers to get their solution implemented so they can start using it as soon as possible. Many of them tell me how frustrated they are with their current processes and I regularly hear stories about how time consuming it is to manually record transaction details in a spread sheet, or how difficult it is to obtain authorisation to get an invoice paid using a paper based process of sending documentation through their internal mail system. Another common difficulty is trying to find misfiled paperwork in order to deal with a supplier’s query. Given all these factors, it is easy to see why our customers are eager to adopt a solution that can help remove these frustrations from their everyday work.
A client training day usually follows a similar pattern; firstly, a presentation is given explaining the fundamental concepts of the V1 EDM solution. This is followed by a walkthrough using a generic training environment so that the customer can see the solution in action and have an opportunity to ask any questions they need to in order to confirm their understanding. Finally, there is a practical session working on their own V1 environment using examples of their own invoices and credit notes. This give the customer hands on experience of using the V1 applications in preparation for commencing a period of testing and following this, going live with the implementation.
My role can be very challenging as in addition to training, our customers on how to use the V1 solution, I am required to answer very specific questions on the client’s working processes and how they interact with V1 EDM so there is a lot of thinking on my feet! Fortunately, I have the support of an excellent team of Project Managers and Technical Consultants which means we are able to answer our customers’ queries promptly.
Overall, the satisfaction I get from my role is hearing from our customers how V1 EDM has helped them work more efficiently day-to-day, reduce the amount of paper in circulation and improve their invoice authorisation processes and knowing I played a small part in making that happen.The Trainer’s Tale…….A look at V1 product training by
